Julie Handke (Head Coach)

"I have always had a passion for all things girlie, especially dance, cheerleading and gymnastics. Even though it terrified my family for me to be flipping and dancing, after a traumatic brain injury which caused Epilepsy, it was their fierce support and my determination that has made me who I am today. My parents always supported me staying active even after my injury and dance, cheer and gymnastics provided me the best possible therapy in my situation. After high school, I received a cheerleading scholarship to Central Michigan University. After two years at CMU, I traveled to Fort Collins for a family vacation and ended up staying in Colorado for good. I just loved it so much here! Since being in Colorado, I received my Bachelors Degree in Nursing from University of Northern Colorado while teaching youth cheer, dance and gymnastics. I met my husband, John, a former Special Operations Army Ranger, and it wasn’t long before we were married. Over our past 14 years together, we have had our two daughters, Brookelyn and Clare, traveled, and acquired three pets. Our whole family is excited to be part of the Varsity Windsor Wizards Poms team. I look forward to bonding with the team, choreographing fun, talented routines and taking the team to the next level in dance. All while instilling leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Thank you for this opportunity to be part of such a great program!   Go Wizards Poms"

Samantha McConnell (Assistant Coach)

I was a member of my varsity poms team in high school where we were State Champions in 2012. I currently dance for the University of Northern Colorado on their dance team where I am currently working on a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education. I also dance for a professional company in Denver called Dream Project. I am going into my third year as an NDA Instructor and I’m so excited to be able to coach for Windsor!
